Indian indexes for USDT and USDC stablecoins hit record premiums amid Binance wallet hack and withdrawal pause.

On October 30, Indian price indexes for stablecoins Tether (USDT) and USD Coin (USDC) reached record premiums of 7.19% and 7.85% respectively, indicating local prices well above their dollar peg. This occurred shortly after Binance disclosed a security breach on October 29 that led to a temporary suspension of withdrawals for review, though deposits and other services continued. The premium levels had been rising since October 23 for USDC and were already elevated for USDT before the hack. These indexes reflect sampled prices from multiple Indian exchanges compared to the rupee-dollar reference rate, highlighting local market demand and supply imbalances for these dollar-linked tokens.

Binance Coin (BNB) shows a market cap of Rp1.666,85 trillion and a 24-hour trading volume of Rp56,54 trillion on Pluang as of October 31, 2026, 05:32 WIB. The platform data indicates a slight 0.98% decline in BNB price to Rp12.678.001, with a majority of Pluang users (63%) buying rather than selling. This contrasts with the Indian stablecoin market where USDT and USDC premiums surged following Binance's withdrawal pause, highlighting differing regional market dynamics.
