Goldman cuts Kospi target by 25% amid 40% drop, still sees 60% upside in Korean AI-related stocks.

Goldman Sachs has reduced its 12-month target for South Korea's Kospi index by 25%, lowering it from 12,000 to 9,000 after the index fell 40% since midsummer. The Kospi is seen as a key indicator for global AI trade sentiment, especially due to its heavy weighting in semiconductor stocks. Despite the cut, Goldman remains bullish on Korea's market, citing a potential 60% upside from the revised target. This reflects ongoing optimism about Korea's role in the AI sector despite recent market volatility.

The Kospi index's recent forecast cut by Goldman Sachs contrasts with the current performance of US technology stocks on Pluang. As of Oct 26, 2026 16:41 WIB, 85 out of 150 priced Technology-sector US stocks rose, while 47 fell. Among notable movers, NBIS dropped 2.21% to USD 155.14 with a typical hold time of 26 days, IREN declined 2.19% to USD 24.36 with 29 days typical hold, and CIFR fell 2.02% to USD 7.78 with a 16-day hold period.
