ImmuPharma has appointed Kymos Group as the bioanalytical partner for its diabetes drug candidate Kapiglucagon, completing its outsourced development team. Kymos will develop and validate methods to measure the drug in biological samples and analyze data from preclinical and planned Phase 1 trials. This follows earlier contracts with Thermo Fisher and Bachem AG for manufacturing and active ingredient production. These partnerships prepare ImmuPharma to file an investigational new drug application in the US, advancing Kapiglucagon towards clinical testing. The drug aims to improve dual-hormone artificial pancreas systems for Type 1 diabetes by overcoming glucagon formulation challenges. The development is funded by a £6.47 million raise and targets a two-year plan, with the autoimmune platform P140 remaining the group's main value driver.
