HashKey Cloud has joined Stacks as a launch partner for its Genesis Bond, a new self-custodial Bitcoin staking product expected to launch around September 10. This system allows institutions to earn BTC rewards by timelocking Bitcoin on the base layer while locking STX tokens on Stacks, without transferring Bitcoin to a centralized custodian. HashKey Cloud will also operate as a signer for sBTC, a Bitcoin-backed asset on Stacks, helping secure transfers with a multi-signer approval system. The initial Genesis Bond phase targets institutional participants, with broader access planned later, and aims to provide a Bitcoin yield near 3%, though returns are not guaranteed.
