FlightAware is suing prediction market Kalshi for using its flight data without permission to run betting markets on U.S. flight cancellations. Kalshi allegedly displayed FlightAware’s branding and did not inform them about relying on their data. FlightAware argues these gambling markets pose safety risks and could be manipulated, citing past abuses in similar platforms. The lawsuit seeks a jury trial but does not specify damages yet.
