Direct, decentralized Bitcoin to Zcash swaps launch, enabling private BTC transactions without intermediaries.

THORChain has launched the first decentralized liquidity pool enabling direct swaps between Bitcoin (BTC) and Zcash (ZEC) without intermediaries or KYC. This integration provides Bitcoin users with a privacy feature originally envisioned by Satoshi Nakamoto but never implemented on BTC itself. Zcash offers shielded addresses for on-chain privacy, complementing Bitcoin's transparent transactions. While the pool is new and shallow, posing risks of price slippage, it marks a significant step toward combining Bitcoin's global reserve status with Zcash's privacy capabilities. Regulatory scrutiny remains due to potential misuse, but the platform now offers a direct route for converting Bitcoin to private Zcash tokens.

Bitcoin trades at Rp1.516.746.755 on Pluang as of Oct 03, 2026 01:02 WIB, showing a slight 0.48% decrease in the past day. Zcash is priced at Rp24.385.151 with a modest 0.10% gain over the same period. This new direct swap feature between BTC and ZEC could influence trading dynamics, especially given Bitcoin's strong market cap of Rp30.512,77T and Zcash's growing presence with a market cap of Rp7,04T on Pluang.
