A US law firm, Gerstein Harrow LLP, has filed a restraining notice to block the transfer of 30,766 frozen Ether (ETH) linked to the $292 million Kelp DAO hack, claiming its clients are owed over $877 million by North Korea from previous court judgments. The firm argues the stolen ETH is North Korean property due to the hacker group's affiliation with the country. This legal move could delay compensation for Kelp victims, despite proposals to use the frozen funds for victim restitution. Gerstein Harrow has a history of similar claims against stolen crypto linked to North Korea and other hacks, complicating recovery efforts for affected parties.
