Gold and silver prices jump after weak US jobs data lowers Treasury yields and dollar.

Gold and silver prices rose sharply following a disappointing US July jobs report that showed a decline in nonfarm payrolls by 23,000 and a steady unemployment rate of 4.1%. This weaker labor data reduced expectations for further Federal Reserve rate hikes, causing Treasury yields to fall and the US dollar to weaken. As a result, investors moved towards precious metals, pushing spot gold to around $4,340.60 per ounce and silver to $63.35. The softer dollar and lower yields support gold prices, while geopolitical risks and crude oil prices add some volatility. The market will watch for gold to break resistance levels near $4,360 to $4,380 for further gains, with downside support around $4,300.
