Disney agreed to a $50 million settlement in a class action lawsuit claiming it violated antitrust laws by pushing up streaming subscription prices. The suit, filed by YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream subscribers, alleged Disney used its control over popular channels like ESPN to force higher prices. Disney denies wrongdoing but settled without admitting liability. Eligible subscribers from April 2019 to March 2026 can claim a share of the settlement, with payments proportional to subscription duration. Claims must be filed by September 8, 2026, and a court hearing to approve the settlement is set for January 14, 2027.
