Centrus Energy finalized a $900 million contract with the U.S. Department of Energy, with options raising the total to $1.07 billion, to scale up production of High-Assay, Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU). This contract marks Centrus' shift from demonstration to commercial production, aiming to bring new enrichment capacity online by 2029. The expansion will create thousands of jobs across Ohio and Tennessee and support U.S. energy and national security goals. Centrus plans to operate existing facilities commercially during the transition and continue expanding based on market demand and funding.
