Visa and Mastercard could boost revenue through growing tokenization fees as digital payments expand, UBS says.

UBS analysts predict that Visa and Mastercard will see increasing revenue from payment tokenization fees as digital transactions grow. Tokenization replaces sensitive card details with digital identifiers, enhancing security and reducing fraud, and is used in eCommerce, mobile wallets, and emerging AI-driven commerce. Visa currently leads Mastercard in tokenization revenue due to recent pricing changes, with potential for further fee increases as these services become more valuable. This trend offers a new revenue stream beyond transaction volumes, supporting medium-term growth for both companies.

Following UBS's outlook on Visa and Mastercard's revenue growth from tokenization fees, both stocks show positive momentum on Pluang. As of Oct 23, 2026 02:21 WIB, Visa trades at USD 412.88 with a 1-day gain of 1.23%, while Mastercard is priced higher at USD 631.05, up 1.35% for the day. Mastercard also sees strong buying interest on Pluang, with 95% of orders to buy compared to Visa's more balanced 53% sell and 47% buy activity.
