Azitra expands ATR-04 trial to treat rashes from KRAS and MEK cancer inhibitors, boosting patient pool and trial speed.

Azitra has amended its Phase 1/2 trial for ATR04-484 to include patients with skin rashes caused by KRAS and MEK inhibitors, in addition to those with EGFR inhibitor-related rashes. This expansion also covers patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) experiencing MEK inhibitor-associated rash, broadening the potential treatment population significantly. The changes, including shorter washout periods for antibiotics and steroids, aim to facilitate faster patient recruitment and accelerate trial enrollment. ATR04-484 is a live biotherapeutic targeting inflammatory skin rashes linked to cancer treatments, with Fast Track FDA designation recognizing its potential to address a high unmet medical need.
