Apple modifies app tracking consent screens in EU after antitrust probe to ease user concerns.

Following a multi-year antitrust investigation by German and European regulators, Apple has agreed to change how apps request user consent for tracking across other apps and websites in the EU. The new rules allow app developers to use a redesigned consent screen with less intimidating language, full-page display, and an option to provide more information about data use. These changes aim to make the consent process clearer and less biased in favor of Apple’s own apps, which previously did not require such consent. Apple will also permit developers to re-prompt users annually for tracking permission, enhancing transparency and user control in the EU market.

Apple Inc shares trade at USD 335.84 on Pluang as of Sep 17, 2026 23:21 WIB, showing a 1.03% gain for the day. The stock's market cap stands at $4.85 trillion, reflecting its massive scale in the technology sector. Despite regulatory changes in the EU, Pluang users show a 78% sell and 22% buy order split, indicating mixed investor sentiment.
