Apple tightens App Store rules to restrict minors' access to dating and AI companion apps with adult content.

Apple announced new App Store policies requiring all dating and romantic relationship apps to have an 18+ rating, aiming to better protect minors from sexual or romantic content. Starting November 16, developers must include content descriptors reflecting these features. This change also affects AI companion apps, which often target younger users and allow creation of romantic or sexual AI characters. Additionally, apps sharing users' real-world locations must disclose this functionality due to privacy concerns. In Brazil, family location-sharing apps may follow local government rating rules instead of Apple's 16+ rating requirement.

Apple's new policy on dating and AI companion apps coincides with a Technology-sector market where 84 of 150 US stocks rose and 66 fell as of Nov 03, 2026 22:32 WIB. Among notable movers, NBIS (Nebius Group NV) gained 7.04% to USD 151.34 with a Pluang order activity of 39% Sell / 61% Buy and a typical hold time of 27 days. CORZ (Core Scientific Inc) rose 6.68% to USD 13.34, and CRDO (Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd) increased 6.41% to USD 148.99 with 10% Sell / 90% Buy activity and a 25-day hold time.
