Only 15% of Americans find joy affordable amid financial pressures, says Ally's new Joy Index

Ally Bank launched the Cost of Life Today platform with its Joy Index, revealing that only 15% of Americans find joy easy to afford despite 79% experiencing joy monthly. The index measures how financial realities impact Americans' ability to enjoy life, showing many balance long-term goals with present joy but often feel guilt spending on happiness. Gen Z leads in prioritizing joy with dedicated budgets, though financial pressure remains widespread. Ally aims to track these trends annually to better understand consumer financial well-being and improve banking experiences.
