Switzerland to launch first retail Bitcoin ETF on SIX Exchange in Nov 2026, limited to Swiss investors.

Switzerland's first retail Bitcoin ETF, the Bitcoin Fund ETF (BBIT), is set to begin trading on the SIX Swiss Exchange in November 2026, though the exact date is yet to be announced. Approved by the Swiss regulator FINMA, the fund is structured as a collective investment scheme holding only Bitcoin, distinct from other crypto products in Switzerland. Access to the fund is limited to Swiss investors, with international brokers allowed to trade it but not offer it to customers outside Switzerland. FINMA noted the high risk of Bitcoin investments despite the fund's approval and granted an exception to diversification rules due to Bitcoin's trading history and volume.
