Airbnb is expanding beyond its traditional home and property rentals by officially adding hotel listings to its platform, initially partnering with boutique hotels in 20 cities worldwide. This move aims to attract travelers seeking last-minute bookings, short stays, or business trips, while also providing options in cities where short-term rentals are restricted. Alongside hotels, Airbnb is enhancing its offerings with services like grocery delivery, airport pickups, luggage storage, car rentals, and local experiences to compete with platforms like Viator. The company is also integrating AI tools to improve listing creation, review filtering, property comparison, and customer service, including a chatbot handling 40% of queries and plans for a voice-based AI assistant later this year.
