How to analyze mutual fund performance?

You can compare the price or performance of mutual funds with the benchmark of the type of effect or instrument. The main information that is considered is the return or yield of the mutual fund. However, it is necessary to compare mutual funds with the appropriate benchmark.

• For money market mutual funds, the benchmark generally used is bank deposit interest.

• For fixed income mutual funds, the benchmark that can be used for comparison is the bond index, for example, INDOBeX, Indonesia Composite Bond Index (ICBI) or IBPA Index.

• For stock mutual funds, the benchmarks generally used are stock indexes in Indonesia such as IHSG, IDX30 or LQ45.
