PT Paninvest Tbk formerly PT Panin Insurance Tbk (the Company) was established in Jakarta under the name PT Pan-Union Insurance Ltd., based on Notarial Deed No. 84 dated October 24, 1973 of Notary Juliaan Nimrod Siregar Gelar Mangaradja Namora, S.H. The Company is one of the companies under Pan Indonesia (Panin) Group. Based on the Minutes of General Shareholders's Meeting held on June 28, 2013 which was notarized in Notarial Deed of Kumala Tjahjani Widodo, S.H., M.H.,Mkn., No.78, dated June 28, 2013, the shareholders agree the plan to change the Company's main business activity from general insurance company to tourism and transferred its general insurance portfolio along with portion of its assets and liabilities related to general insurance business to PT Asuransi Umum Panin, subsidiary.

As September 2001, The Company operates a total of 77 department stores and until the end of 2001 the company plans to open 5 department stores more.The Company started its commercials operations in 1983.
