Aura AI Summary

Signals from Pluang's Aura AI — not financial advice

Nomura Holdings Inc

Nomura Holdings (NMR) trades at $9.58 with minimal daily movement (+0.1%). The stock shows mixed technical signals with bearish moving averages but neutral oscillators. Fundamentally, the company demonstrates strong revenue growth ($1.66T in 2025) and improving profitability (20.4% net margin), though recent earnings misses raise concerns. Analyst sentiment leans cautious with 67% hold ratings despite positive momentum coverage from Zacks.

NMR presents a value opportunity with attractive valuation multiples (P/E 11.01, P/B 1.12) but faces execution risks from volatile cash flows and rising debt levels. The stock's outlook depends on sustained earnings growth and management's ability to navigate Japan's fiscal challenges highlighted in recent analyst commentary.

About Nomura Holdings Inc

Nomura is Japan's largest broker, about twice the size of rival Daiwa Securities and roughly three times the size of the securities units of the three megabanks. It is also the largest asset-management company in Japan, with a similar size differential compared with its rivals. Despite its topnotch brand name in retail broking and asset management in Japan, Nomura has struggled to compete effectively in the institutional securities business against larger global rivals. In 2008, Nomura bought European and Asian assets of the failed Lehman Brothers, which led to a sharply higher cost base but did not provide commensurate revenue. Nomura has reduced the scale of these businesses but maintains its ambition to compete globally with the top players.
