Zcash has launched its Ironwood network upgrade to address a critical security flaw found in its previous shielded pool, Orchard. The upgrade restricts the Orchard pool and introduces a new shielded pool with a system that independently verifies that no more ZEC leaves the pool than entered it, enhancing transaction security and supply integrity. Users with funds in Orchard must migrate to Ironwood through supported wallets, while others only need to update their software. This upgrade follows an emergency fix in June and aims to maintain Zcash's privacy model with stronger monetary supply guarantees.
