French authorities have detained Svetlana A. and launched a formal investigation into alleged organized fraud, tax fraud, money laundering, and involvement in a criminal group linked to the Verasity (VRA) token. Investigators suspect Svetlana and her husband, Robert H., the founder of Verasity, manipulated VRA's price to defraud investors, with proceeds allegedly used to buy luxury real estate in Dubai. VRA's price surged 65-fold in early 2021 before crashing. Svetlana denies wrongdoing, claiming the funds for Dubai purchases were legitimate. The investigation continues to focus on the token manipulation, fraud allegations, and the source of funds for the Dubai properties.
