Small merchants can adapt faster to AI shopping despite lagging in readiness, says Visa report.

A Visa report reveals that only 11% of small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are ready for AI-driven shopping agents, compared to 19% of large merchants. However, SMBs' ability to quickly update product data and operations could help them catch up. Most merchants lack structured product data for AI access, yet many expect AI agents to drive a significant portion of digital sales soon. Merchants are focusing investments on checkout, payments, and fraud controls, with apps becoming key sales channels. Improving product data and integrating AI-friendly systems are crucial for SMBs to benefit from AI-driven customer acquisition and sales growth.

Visa Inc shares are trading at USD 369.55 on Pluang, down 0.11% as of Sep 22, 2026 15:11 WIB. The stock has a market cap of $691.41 billion and a dividend yield of 0.73%. Investor interest remains strong with 76% of orders on Pluang being buys at this time.
