Chinese AI startup JoyIn accuses OpenAI of copying tech and design in recent AI models.

JoyIn, a Chinese humanoid robotics startup backed by Ant, publicly accused OpenAI of copying key technical concepts and website design from its AI model, Aether. JoyIn's CEO Guo Renjie highlighted similarities in approaches like recursive self-improvement and AI optimization, as well as the space-themed design of OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra webpage. JoyIn claims to have presented its model framework before OpenAI's similar publication and has started legal action. OpenAI has not responded, and the claims have not been independently verified. This dispute reflects ongoing tensions in the AI race between U.S. and Chinese companies.
