
StarkWare has successfully executed the first quantum-resistant Bitcoin transaction using signature grinding technology, which enhances security during the vulnerable mempool period without requiring a Bitcoin network fork. This method, developed by Avihu Levy, involves a resource-intensive process to conceal cryptographic information from quantum computers that could otherwise forge signatures and steal funds. The 3.1 BTC transaction was processed via MARA's Slipstream platform, which supports non-standard transactions. While this breakthrough marks a key step toward quantum-safe Bitcoin, StarkWare emphasizes the need for broader protocol-level upgrades to fully protect the network against future quantum threats.
