Open USD launches as a new stablecoin backed by Mastercard, Visa, Coinbase, and Stripe with a unique equity-sharing model.

Open USD, a new stablecoin supported by Mastercard, Visa, Coinbase, Stripe, and Shopify, launched on multiple blockchains including Ethereum and Solana. Unlike traditional stablecoins dominated by Tether's USDT and Circle's USDC, Open USD uses an innovative model where equity and rewards are distributed to partners based on their role in growing the stablecoin's supply and transaction activity. This approach aims to incentivize active use and integration across payments, banking, and institutional trading. With over 200 partners and plans to expand its founding group, Open USD targets faster, fee-free transactions and aims to become a core part of global money movement infrastructure over the next decade.

Ethereum and Solana, blockchains hosting the new Open USD stablecoin, show steady trading on Pluang as of Sep 30, 2026, 22:41 WIB. Ethereum trades at Rp48.036.504 with a slight 0.04% decrease, while Solana is up 0.41% at Rp2.130.903. Solana's higher buy activity of 71% contrasts with Ethereum's 63%, reflecting differing investor interest levels in these platforms supporting Open USD.
