Snap Inc. reported a first-quarter net loss of $89 million, narrowing from the previous year's $139.6 million loss, with revenue matching expectations at $1.53 billion. The company ended its $400 million AI partnership with startup Perplexity and provided cautious second-quarter sales guidance of $1.52 billion to $1.55 billion, assuming no contribution from Perplexity. Daily active users rose 5% year-over-year, helped by new product features, but advertising growth faced challenges from large North American advertisers. Snap also announced layoffs of about 16% of its workforce as it continues its AI-driven transformation.
