On July 26, 2026, WEMIX suffered a security breach where an attacker gained control and issued about 5.23 million WEMIX tokens without authorization, resulting in a $6.25 million loss. The attacker converted stolen tokens into ETH and USDT, moved funds across multiple wallets, and sent some to centralized exchanges. In response, WEMIX quickly suspended bridges, halted liquidity pools and trading, and blocked related services to contain the damage. Investigations and cooperation with exchanges to freeze assets are ongoing, but the incident may cause short-term market uncertainty and selling pressure until a full recovery plan is announced.
