Swiss Bitcoin Pay suffers data breach exposing customer emails, bitcoin addresses, and IBANs, servers offline for investigation.

Swiss Bitcoin Pay, a non-custodial bitcoin payment processor, disclosed on September 14, 2026, that a malicious user accessed its internal systems, potentially compromising customer email addresses, bitcoin addresses, IBANs, transaction history, and hashed passwords. The company has temporarily shut down its servers to investigate and secure its infrastructure. While user funds remain safe, the breach adds to a series of crypto industry data leaks in 2026, including incidents at Revolut, Trezor, and others. Swiss Bitcoin Pay has not announced when it will resume operations but assures that any owed amounts will be fully returned. Customers are advised to remain vigilant against phishing and scams.
