The Microduck, a programmable personal robot from Hugging Face's French subsidiary Pollen Robotics, has sold over 10,000 units since its launch, generating more than $4 million in revenue. The duck-shaped robot features on-device computing powered by Rockchip's RK3566 chip, which uses technology licensed from British company ARM. Rockchip is a key player in AI chips for edge devices, enabling secure AI functions without cloud data sharing. Due to high demand, delivery times have been pushed back past Christmas 2026. The Microduck serves both as an interactive toy and a development platform with open-source software, capable of learning from simulations and goal-driven commands. This launch follows a previous successful robot from the same companies, and comes amid growing interest in personal robots with AI capabilities globally.
