Withdrawing the amendment could remove over 10,000 lines of inactive code from the XRPL server software, reducing maintenance burdens. However, Ripple cannot unilaterally withdraw the amendment as it requires approval from at least 80% of validators. The withdrawal process will proceed gradually with community feedback and validator upgrades, and Ripple invites developers with active XLS-38 projects to present use cases before final removal.
