Rainbow Rare Earths has secured Neo Performance Materials as its technology partner for the final separation stage at its Phalaborwa rare earth project in South Africa. Neo will provide technical support and design input for the solvent extraction process and receive offtake rights for a significant portion of the rare earth output, including 40% of NdPr oxide and 65% of heavy rare earth carbonate. This partnership enables Rainbow to advance its pre-feasibility study, expected in Q4 2026, and aims to complete the definitive feasibility study by mid-2027, moving the project closer to financing and permitting stages.
