Researchers at AmericanFortress introduced ZKPoSP, a post-quantum signature system using zero-knowledge proofs to secure Bitcoin and other crypto wallets against quantum computer threats. Unlike current methods relying on elliptic curve signatures, ZKPoSP allows wallet owners to prove control without revealing private keys or changing wallet addresses, avoiding fund migration. Prototype tests showed proof generation takes about 12-13 seconds, with verification under 10 milliseconds. While still a proposal, this innovation addresses growing risks as quantum computing advances, complementing other efforts like Project Eleven and the Bitcoin Security Consortium's initiatives.
