Mars Petcare US has voluntarily recalled two lots of Pedigree High Protein Chopped Chicken & Duck Flavor dog food due to potential contamination with sharp metal and plastic pieces. The affected 13.2-ounce cans, identified by lot codes 613C3KKCFC and 613C1KKCFC, pose choking and internal injury risks to dogs. The recalled products were mistakenly sold in the U.S. after being sent for destruction. Consumers are advised not to feed the product to pets and to contact Pedigree for replacements, while the company investigates how the contaminated items entered the market. No illnesses or injuries have been reported so far.
