RLUSD is a dollar-pegged token issued under New York state supervision by Standard Custody and Trust Company, backed by cash reserves. Ripple introduced RLUSD in December 2024 for payments and financial transactions, with institutional clients able to create and redeem tokens via Ripple Mint. The growth in RLUSD supply could boost XRPL activity but does not directly impact XRP token holders' demand.
