5% US Treasuries prompt sell-off in Bitcoin and gold, says Bloomberg strategist.

Bloomberg strategist Mike McGlone advises investors to consider selling Bitcoin and gold in favor of U.S. Treasuries, which now offer yields near 5%. This shift follows the Federal Reserve's recent rate hike and rising bond yields, making government bonds more attractive due to their fixed returns. Gold loses appeal as it generates no income, while Bitcoin is seen as a risky asset amid tightening financial conditions. McGlone predicts a portfolio rotation toward safer U.S. government bonds as monetary tightening continues.

Bitcoin is currently trading at Rp1.386.104.502 on Pluang, showing a 1-day gain of 2.18%. Despite the strategist's suggestion to sell, Pluang users are mostly buying, with 70% of order activity favoring purchases as of Sep 18, 2026 19:01 WIB.
