Nasdaq Ventures is investing $100 million in Payward, the parent company of Kraken, to advance the development of tokenized stock trading infrastructure. This investment supports the Nasdaq Equity Token (NET) framework, expected to launch in Q2 2027, enabling tokenized equities to move seamlessly across markets. The partnership also includes a new market surveillance agreement where Payward will use Nasdaq's surveillance technology. This move aims to modernize stock trading by reducing settlement times and enhancing liquidity through blockchain technology.
