Microchip Technology introduced two new turnkey capacitive-touch controllers, MTCH3380P and MTCH3240P, designed for buttons, sliders, and wheels in display-free human machine interfaces (HMIs). These controllers use parallel sensing to acquire data from multiple sensors simultaneously, enabling fast response times and high signal-to-noise ratios even in noisy environments. They support functional safety certification and operate up to 105°C, making them suitable for home appliances and industrial applications. The devices help manufacturers reduce system costs and complexity while improving touch sensitivity and reliability, especially in challenging conditions like moisture or glove use.
