Florida seeks court order to limit Meta's teen features, hitting Instagram and Facebook profits.

Florida's attorney general has asked a judge to temporarily stop Meta from allowing users under 14, limit teens to two hours daily on its apps, and disable autoplay and infinite scroll for teens in the state. This move targets key features that drive Meta's advertising revenue, which made up nearly all of its $60.8 billion Q2 revenue. Florida rejected an $18 billion settlement accepted by other states, calling it insufficient and demanding immediate product changes. Meta's stock fell 2.38% following the news, while a related case in New Mexico could impose up to $40 billion in penalties. The outcomes could significantly impact Meta's business model and stock valuation.

Following Florida's legal move against Meta's app features, Meta's stock on Pluang shows a moderate decline, down 0.66% to USD 716.55 as of Oct 08, 2026 18:12 WIB. The stock remains well below its 52-week high of USD 777.59, with a market cap of $1.84 trillion. Pluang data also indicates a majority of sell orders at 65%, reflecting cautious investor sentiment.
