Liquid Network, a Bitcoin sidechain by Blockstream, is allowing Bitcoin (BTC) conversions through swap providers again after a security exploit created about 4,000 unbacked LBTC tokens. While direct withdrawals from network reserves remain blocked, users can convert LBTC to BTC via participating swap providers. Most of the stolen BTC has been returned, with around 600 BTC still unrecovered. The network plans to restore full 1:1 backing and re-enable direct withdrawals once safeguards and technical infrastructure are confirmed secure.
