Klima Protocol launches Klima 2.0 with transparent, fee-free carbon credit pricing on blockchain

Klima Protocol has launched Klima 2.0, a new version of its voluntary carbon market platform that replaces opaque broker fees and bilateral deals with a transparent, rules-based pricing system on the blockchain. The protocol uses two native tokens—kVCM for transactions and governance, and K2 for incentives and scarcity—to ensure fair pricing and integrity. Klima 2.0 charges zero fees on carbon credit retirements, directing all funds to climate action, and enables instant, auditable on-chain retirements. This model aims to build trust and improve market transparency, addressing past criticisms of volatility and lack of clarity in carbon markets, while relying on community participation for sustainability.
