Johnson Controls has launched its second AI Factory Reference Design Guide focused on air-cooled chillers, advancing sustainable cooling for large-scale AI data centers. This design eliminates water use by removing cooling towers, saving over 12 million gallons daily, and improves energy efficiency by 32% through intelligent chiller use. It supports scalable data centers up to 1 gigawatt, returning up to 50 MW of power to the facility and reducing peak power needs by 20 MW. This innovation addresses growing cooling challenges in AI infrastructure, promoting energy savings and environmental sustainability globally.
