Hyperliquid has introduced a testnet upgrade for its HIP-3 protocol that enables independent market deployers to manage access to perpetual futures markets via on-chain allowlists. This optional feature lets deployers restrict participation based on their business or legal needs without involving Hyperliquid's core team. The upgrade supports compliance flexibility, such as limiting access to U.S. or institutional investors, while maintaining deployers' full operational control and responsibility. The feature is still in testing, with no set mainnet release date, and separate regulatory discussions continue for U.S. market access involving Hyperliquid Labs and Payward.
