Hashdex announced it will close and liquidate its US-listed Bitcoin ETF, DEFI, after struggling to attract sufficient assets and trading activity. DEFI, holding about $14.7 million as of July 30, will stop trading on August 17 and be delisted from NYSE Arca. Shareholders will receive a cash payment around August 28 after the fund sells its Bitcoin holdings, with the final amount depending on Bitcoin's price during liquidation. This closure does not affect Hashdex's other crypto ETF, NCIQ, which remains active with $206.8 million in assets.
