Gilead Sciences and Merck have stopped their Phase 3 trial combining Trodelvy and Keytruda for metastatic non-small cell lung cancer after it failed to show statistically significant benefits. However, they announced positive Phase 3 results for a new once-weekly oral HIV treatment combining islatravir and lenacapavir, which met primary efficacy goals and showed comparable safety to existing therapies. The companies plan to seek regulatory approval and present full data at upcoming medical meetings. This new HIV regimen could offer patients a convenient, long-acting treatment option if approved.
