This upgrade prepares for the upcoming NU7 protocol change that will reduce block spacing from 75 to 25 seconds, increasing the workload for nodes. Zakura supports pruned snapshots that speed up node recovery significantly. The NU7 testnet is set for October 6, with mainnet activation targeted for early November, but Gemini assures that deposits and withdrawals will continue without disruption.
