FirstEnergy Foundation commits $5M to provide 15M meals for hunger relief in its service regions.

The FirstEnergy Foundation announced a $5 million grant to 140 food banks and pantries across Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and D.C. to provide an estimated 15 million meals. This is the Foundation's largest hunger relief effort, doubling its support from 2025, aimed at addressing persistent food insecurity affecting millions, including over 2 million children. The initiative supports local communities during National Hunger Action Month and includes employee volunteer efforts to enhance impact. This investment reflects FirstEnergy's commitment to community well-being and aims to strengthen food assistance programs in its operational areas.
