Ethereum, Solana, and Avalanche see more transactions but their tokens drop over 50% due to lower fees reducing revenue.

Ethereum, Solana, and Avalanche blockchain networks have increased transaction volumes significantly compared to a year ago. However, their native tokens—ETH, SOL, and AVAX—have fallen about 50% or more in value during the same period. This decline is linked to lower transaction fees caused by protocol upgrades, which make blockspace cheaper and reduce the revenue that accrues to token holders. While network activity is growing, the economic benefits to token prices are weakening, raising questions about whether token values will realign with network fundamentals or if this decoupling is permanent. Analysts suggest that future token price gains depend on whether increased usage can offset lower fees, and that metrics like fee revenue, staking rewards funded by fees, and collateral holdings are better indicators of token demand than transaction counts alone.
