Ethereum launches zkAPI to hide AI prompt payments, enhancing user privacy on its blockchain.

The Ethereum Foundation has introduced zkAPI, a new privacy tool that allows users to pay for AI services without linking their requests to their identity. Using zero-knowledge proofs, zkAPI separates the payment process from the AI prompts, so neither the AI provider nor the payment server can trace usage back to the payer. Users deposit crypto into a vault and generate proofs to spend without revealing their identity, improving privacy for sensitive AI queries. While zkAPI does not hide network details like IP addresses, it marks a significant step toward enhancing user privacy in AI interactions on Ethereum.
