US spot XRP ETF drops 40% from peak despite strong institutional interest since 2025 launch

The first US spot XRP ETF, Canary Capital's XRPC, has fallen over 40% from its peak since launching in late 2025, despite attracting significant institutional capital and strong initial trading volume. The fund is down 21.24% year-to-date but showed some recovery with a 6.7% gain last month. Although seven US spot XRP ETFs have gathered nearly $1.79 billion in net inflows and hold about 1.2% of XRP's total supply, XRP's price remains weak around $1.50, far below its 2025 peak near $3.65. Factors such as modest ETF demand compared to Bitcoin ETFs, ETF mechanics limiting direct price impact, ongoing selling by long-term holders, and XRP's correlation with Bitcoin have constrained price gains. BlackRock's decision not to launch an XRP ETF due to limited client demand also highlights XRP's struggle to attract institutional capital compared to Bitcoin and Ethereum.

While the US spot XRP ETF has plunged over 40% from its peak, Bitcoin and Ethereum show contrasting trends on Pluang as of Oct 07, 2026 18:51 WIB. Bitcoin trades at Rp1.495.067.022, down 3.16% in one day, holding close to its 96% circulating supply mark. Ethereum, priced at Rp46.003.499, fell 5.27% in 24 hours with a higher sell activity of 75%. This highlights XRP's deeper struggles compared to these major cryptocurrencies, which maintain stronger market positions despite recent declines.
